Part 1: "Fashion through the Decades" ~~ 1920's

The Roaring 20’s was the aptly named era. It introduced to the amazing Ford Model T, Babe Ruth, sinfully sneaky speakeasies and of course the invention of The Charleston.

But what about the amazing fashion world that evolved from the runways of the era? Because of the Great Depression fashion of the time was generally created by your everyday house wife from materials they already had, but as a result the Fantastically Flirtatious Flapper dress.

The era was the era of hats as well. Women began wearing the Cloche hat, it was a wide brimmed hat created in the previous decade but reached new fame throughout the 20’s and into the 30’s.

While these are the two most iconic fashion pieces of the time they were definitely not the only ones. Women began to wear more pants and their shoes were redesigned to include an ankle strap and trimmed with different types of materials. However, while the women’s clothing saw the most drastic changes we cannot forget about the handsome hunks of the era……

Men’s fashion saw change that included shorter jackets, which meant steering away from the longer, formal suits that had been popular up to that point.

  1. I love the looks of this era - wish there were more patterns to re-create them. Cloche hats are super flattering too!
